Once upon a time there was this couple who went shopping together one Saturday. One of the stops they made that day was a fabric store. Unlike most couples, the husband loved to shop with his wife no matter what type of store it was. While the wife was looking for some material to make drapes, the husband casually wandered through the store. Out of the corner of his eye something caught his attention. You see, the husband loved to scuba dive, and the material that caught his eye had manatees on it. He asked his wife if she could make him a shirt using this material. “Of course”, she said. They looked through the pattern books until they found just the right shirt pattern, and with the manatee material they went home.
It took the wife a few months to make the shirt. You see there were the drapes to make, and did I mention that they moved too. Months later on a rainy day the wife decided that this would be a great day to sew. Out came the manatee material and shirt pattern. With a little guidance from the husband his shirt was created. The husband loved the shirt so much, and he would wear it when the couple would go shopping together. This couple also loved craft shows, and he would wear his manatee shirt to them. People would see his shirt and ask him where he got it. “My wife makes them”, the husband would reply. With such positive reactions, the husband wanted other shirts. Back to the fabric store the couple went. Not just one store this time, but several, with enough material to make 4 or 5 shirts, all with ocean creatures. This time, the shirts were produced somewhat quicker. Now when the couple went to the weekend craft shows and someone would ask where did he find his shirt, he would reply; “my wife makes them, they are one of a kind works of art, would you like one?” By this time the wife had business cards printed, created by the husband, of course. Over the past ten years the shirts have evolved into The Shirts that you see on this website.
